A Journey of Impact: Youth Team from America Visits FSI #FSIChangemakers

May 08, 2025

(20 October 2023) We were so grateful to welcome a youth team from America who visited us at the Free and Safe Indonesia Foundation! During their time with us, they visited every program we run from our kids’ program to the juvenile prison, and even joined us for home visits called “Home to Home” where they listened to stories from local families. They also went on a fun trip to Tangkuban Perahu volcano with the boys from our Transition Home program.

Their journey continued to Bali, where they had the opportunity to visit Bangli Prison, known from the Netflix series Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons (Season 7, Episode 3). There, they met two inmates featured in the show and even had a photo together! At the prison, they were split into two groups, one led an inspiring English class where they shared motivational stories, while the other trained and played futsal with the inmates.

Even though the time was short, deep conversations and life stories were exchanged. We are truly thankful for their visit and the meaningful impact they made on us and everyone in our programs. Wishing them all the best ahead!
