New Boy

November 05, 2020

Meet Wahyu our newest boy to join the Free and Safe family. Wahyu is 21 years old and has already been staying in our transition home for almost 2 months 🙌🏻✨

Wahyu is the seventh of eight children, who comes from Cicalengka, a small town in West Java

Apart from being a diligent and polite young man to others, whenever we walk by him he greets us by bowing his head and giving a traditional Indonesian greeting. However, because of his shy nature, he will not look you in the eyes when you talk to him. We are trying to help Wahyu to be more confident when communicating with others 😀💬

For Wahyu’s education, he has already finished his high school degree, but he has not studied English for a long time. Wahyu’s English skills are not yet fluent. By taking part in our English class program, he has started learning English little by little

Currently he works at a pizza restaurant from 7 am to 5 pm. However, the location is quite far away. It takes one hour by bus and requires Wahyu to leave for work by 6 in the morning so that he is not late 🍕🥩

“I want to be someone who is useful to others and learn from the mistakes I made in the past,” said Wahyu

Seeing how diligent and passionate Wahyu works, it makes us very grateful to have Wahyu here.
