Common Questions
What is the maximum amount of volunteers you accept?
That depends on what you want to come and do. For a week or more we advise group size of around four people, but if you are simply passing through Bandung and want to see our charity and visit prison than we can accommodate bigger groups.
Who are you?
How fast will you respond?
Oof, hard question! We are very good at connecting with people from prison, or our partners here in Bandung…but email isn’t our strong suit. So it might take a day or two.
Can I volunteer long-term with Free and safe?
The short answer is: ‘yes!’ We would love to have you. The long answer is: ‘Well, it depends if our guest rooms are free if we have work to do, etc.’ but who wants to hear that? It’s just ‘Yes!’ Send us a message and we are bound to figure something out.
Do you answer your phone in Indonesian?
Maybe we’ll start in Indonesia, ‘Selemat sore!’ and all that, but everyone in our office can speak English, so we can help you out if your Bahasa Indonesia is a little rusty.
