We\u2019ve known these ladies for about a year but haven\u2019t been able to see them for quite a while because of the COVID-19 pandemic\u2026and just recently WE FINALLY MET AGAIN!<\/p>\n
We were invited to come visit those who were preparing for the prison\u2019s Sports Week. It was fun\u2014their smiles haven\u2019t changed!<\/p>\n
When we arrived some were busy preparing food and others were participating in various activities. It looked like the prison was starting to run normally again.<\/p>\n
We also quickly realized that many of our volleyball team participants were not in the prison anymore. We are glad they have returned to their homes.<\/p>\n
For that reason we have also taken the initiative to ask all of those who were freed to contact us so we can continue to help them to make sure they live well and are having a positive transition. We believe they deserve a better life no matter their past. They can learn and change and that\u2019s the reason why we are there for them.<\/p>\n
Our work during this pandemic has been used as preparation time for:
1. Improving our volleyball and football prison\u2019s programs and Education at the Transition Home.
2. Developing a curriculum to help them find a second chance, after prison.
3. Building and equipping self-awareness, so that they can know their value as a woman.<\/p>\n
\n\u00a0All of this will happen if we support them together! Cheers!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
